Lena Pope Home is committed to providing effective, accessible services to our community. The Family Matters Counseling program is one way that Lena Pope Home can make that happen. Family Matters provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults and families who reside in Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Services are provided by highly qualified mental health professionals who are dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals. Counseling sessions may occur in the office or in the community depending on the clients’ needs.
Therapist Credentials
All Lena Pope Home therapists who provide treatment services are licensed professionals. Master’s level interns may see clients under the supervision of a licensed professional. See bios.
Practices & Programs
Lena Pope Home utilizes different methods of treatment depending on client needs. These include cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, process and play therapy.
Services provided include: assessments, individual, family, couples and group counseling, school-based groups, and community-based groups. Topics include, but are not limited to depression, trauma, relationship skills building, social skills building, parenting, aggression replacement & management, and substance abuse. Group topics are based on current client and community needs. Lena Pope Home provides a 24-hour crisis hotline for our clients. The hotline provides access to professional staff at all times.

Fees for Service
Lena Pope Home is committed to serving individuals and families of all income levels. Family Matters Counseling offers an array of payment options for counseling services. Many insurance plans are accepted, including Medicaid.
Financial assistance may be provided based on availability. The amount of assistance a family or individual qualifies for is based on the number of individuals living in the home and current household income.
Locations
Clients can be seen in five locations: Fort Worth, Arlington, Northeast Tarrant County, Hood and Parker County. Hours vary by location. We have many requests for after school hours, and we make every effort to accommodate families as soon as possible.

Most Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
The initial assessment is $150.00. The standard counseling fee for service is $100.00 for one 50 minute individual or family counseling session and $30.00 for one 50 minute group session. Financial assistance may be available based on family size and income level with proof of income. Several insurance plans are also accepted as a method of payment.
Do you accept insurance?
Lena Pope Home is committed to participating as a provider for a number of insurance panels. Please make sure to inquire about the insurance carriers accepted through Family Matters Counseling. Some examples of insurance plans currently accepted include Medicaid, Cook's/LIfeSynch, Amerigroup, Aetna, Aetna CHIP and Star, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Humana and Cigna. Call if you do not see your insurance plan on this list.
Do you offer play therapy?
Yes. Play therapy is a creative tool that enables children to express feelings and, as a result, assists in the therapeutic process.
Do you offer group therapy?
Yes, groups are offered through the Family Matters Counseling program. Clients are given the opportunity for increased awareness, growth and creativity in a group setting. Topics include, but are not limited to, anger management, truancy education and prevention, substance abuse, parenting education, social skills building and behavior interventions for children.
What ages do you serve?
Counseling services are available for people of all ages. For young children, the type of therapy used will be adapted to the age and developmental needs of the individual child.
What are Evidence-Based Practices & Programs and how do they effect the treatment I receive?
Evidence-Based Practices are therapeutic techniques that have been thoroughly researched and proven to be effective when used to address a specific problem or concern. Furthermore, Evidence-Based Programs are a collection of evidence-based practices that are usually packaged in a curriculum format. This means that clients are receiving services through Lena Pope Home that are known to be effective. Lena Pope Home is committed to on-going research and implementing best practices, to ensure that the clients of Lena Pope Home receive the most effective interventions from knowledgeable and trained professionals.
