Project CARE links community resources, skills and services to the needs of hundreds of at-risk and foster children in the Greater Fort Worth area. Project CARE asks you to open your heart to children in our community in any way you can. Once a month, Project CARE email alerts are sent out listing the specific needs of our children. Needs range from clothing to beds, dental services to birthday dinners at local restaurants. With your help, these extraordinary children may live healthy and resilient lives. Your time, money and talents will make a difference. For more information, call (817)255-2646 or if you would like to receive the email alert, click on the Contact Lena Pope Home link on the left, fill out the information, and type "Project Care" in the comments section.

- Holidays at the Home
The holidays are particularly difficult for many of our children and families. During this season, Lena Pope Home's goals are to help ease the financial burdens of needy families, reduce the added emotional toll that can be placed on children and families as well as help create happy, new memories. Here are some ways you can help us meet these goals for our children and families:
- Donate new items for stocking stuffers. Suggested items include: gift certificates (Walmart, Mc Donalds, Blockbuster, etc.), shampoo, soap, deodorants, comb/brush, hand held games, socks/slippers, manicure sets, baseball cards, stickers, gel pens, arts & crafts kits, stationary, white shoelaces, toothpaste, toothbrush, activity books, etc.
- Adopt a family. From single parent families to foster families with nine kids, "adopting" a family for Christmas will provide an opportunity to make the holidays complete for our families as well as yours. Families with greatest needs are selected for the holiday "adoption."
- Adopt a classroom. Youth in the Home's Chapel Hill Academy would appreciate a Christmas party, singing carols, story telling, arts & crafts or small age-appropriate gifts. This is a wonderful opportunity for any size group that wants more interaction with our youth.
- Coat and Sweater Call! Colder weather is here! Some of the children and families at Lena Pope Home are in need of both coats and sweaters. Please keep them in mind when you are cleaning your closets or shopping during this Holiday Season
To get involved in the spirit of giving, contact Sarah Rubinson in the Community Relations Department at (817) 255-2646 or via email at srubinson@lenapopehome.org.
