Home is Where the Hope Is
“Home for the Holidays” – it’s a common refrain we hear a lot at this time of year. Through music, movies, or television, the theme of coming home at this time of the year is a common one. And for many of us, the holiday season brings many of us “back home” to spend time with our close family and friends.
At Lena Pope, “home” is not only part of our name but it’s also the central part of our mission. We have a core belief that kids grow best in a home surrounded by people who love and care for them. Success at home is critical to a child’s success in life. That’s why we invest much of our resources to the essential help we provide to ensure that families and kids can stay together and thrive together in their own homes. Research supports this and so does common sense. If we can help a family stay together and succeed, their long term prospects and the future of our community is much improved. In that respect, home really is where the hope is.
So this year as you head home for the holidays or your family heads home to you, I ask you to remember our home – Lena Pope Home - in the gifts you give. With your support, we can continue to make sure that all of our kids and their families have hope, happiness, and success where it matters the most – in their homes.
From our family to yours, we wish you a happy holiday season and thank you for your support of our kids, our families, and our community.
