Susanne Luebke

Director of Early Learning Center

Susanne Luebke has worked in Tarrant County social service since 1992.  A native of Southern California, Susanne received her graduate degree from University of Southern California and was licensed as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in 1995.  Since that time, she has worked as a child and family therapist and has had responsibility for managing many clinical and family preservation programs including contracts with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Fort Worth Independent School District, and United Way of Tarrant County.  Ms. Luebke has been actively involved in numerous county-wide collaborative efforts involving mental health issues and evidence-based practice implementation.  She has been with Lena Pope Home since 2007 where she has provided training, evidence-based practice implementation, and management of Lena Pope Home’s alternative education services.  She is married and has two teenage children.

Beth Waldrop, Lead Teacher

Ms. Waldrop holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Development and Family Studies from the University of North Texas.  In addition, she holds a Texas School Redy! Certification.

Ms. Waldrop has over 7 years of experience providing care and services to children and their families through community programs and schools.

Mrs. Matselele holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe.  In addition, she has a certification in Early Childhood Education.

Mrs. Matselele has over 25 years of experience working in Early Childhood Education in both the private and public sectors.  Her experience includes parental and community participation focusing on early childhood matters.

Rita Jansen, Lead Teacher

Mrs. Jansen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, with a minor in Psychology, from Texas Christian University.  In addition she has a lifetime certification in Early Childhood Education.

Mrs. Jansen has 35 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education within the Forth Worth Independent School District.

Because the center will be pursuing accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and/or the National Child Care Association, some of the standards have been set.

  • 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio for 2.5 to 5 year olds
  • Bachelor’s degree required for teachers
  • Associate’s degree required for aides
