Shania Hence
Ms. Hence is an Honor Graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She is certified in Early Childhood Education in Arkansas and EC-4th and ESL in Texas. She is currently working on her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Literacy Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. Ms. Hence serves as a 2nd grade teacher this year, previously the Lead First Grade Teacher at CHA. Mrs. Hence's prior experiences in working as a teacher have enabled her to implement a structured, well-organized and academically productive classroom environment. This is Ms. Hence’s third year at Chapel Hill Academy and 7th year teaching. Her prior experience includes teaching Pre-Kindergarten and 1st grade and working as a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center.
Margaret Simpson
Mrs. Simpson, grade level chair, graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from St. Edward’s University. She is certified in EC-4 and ESL. This is her third year in education and her second year at Chapel Hill Academy. Her educational experience includes working alongside 1st and 2nd grade teachers as an assistant to ESL students and teaching 1st grade before she came to Chapel Hill Academy to teach 2nd graders. Mrs. Simpson is passionate about teaching children to become lifelong learners and great American citizens. She is thrilled to be a part of the staff that is likeminded in helping children succeed and be the best they can be.
Ashley Smith
Ms. Smith graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She is certified in EC-4th, ESL, and SpecialEducation EC-12th. This is her fourth year teaching at Chapel Hill Academy. Ms. Smith has many years of experience in the classroom environment and enjoys the students’ enthusiasm for learning. Prior to teaching second grade, she taught Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten. She is very creative and enjoys working closely with her students to ensure academic success. Ms. Smith’s favorite hobbies include traveling, reading and the outdoors.
