Dottie Cruz

Ms. Cruz graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and her Master's degree in Education from Texas Christian University. She was the founder and director of a Montessori preschool for five years in the Ryan Place Neighborhood. She worked for Bright Horizons client center in Seattle, Washington for two years. Ms. Cruz also worked for All Church Home as a home parent for and has been a Site Supervisor for Clayton Childcare at Trinity Valley School and the Child Study Center. This is her third year working at Chapel Hill Academy teaching 1st grade.

Kristen Mayfield

Mrs. Mayfield graduated from Abilene Christian University with honors. She has a Bachelor's degree in Education and is certified EC-4th and ESL (English as a Second Language). Mrs. Mayfield taught 2nd grade in China for a period of time and is now on her third year at Chapel Hill Academy. Last year she was honored to receive the Teacher of the Year Award. She loves teaching and is dedicated to the development and education of young children. GO EAGLES!

Ryan Shephard

Mr. Shephard began working for Lena Pope Home as a Behavior Interventionist at Insights Elementary four years ago. Mr. Shephard is looking forward to creating a structured environment so that the students can be academically successful. This will be his third year at Chapel Hill Academy. Prior to his employment with Lena Pope Home, Mr. Shephard worked as a youth care worker at United Methodist Youthville in Newton, Kansas. He received his Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Bethel College. Mr. Shephard is looking forward to another awesome year at Chapel Hill Academy!

Sherri Wilson

Mrs. Wilson graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University. This will be Mrs. Wilson’s second year to teach at Chapel Hill Academy. Prior to her employment at Chapel Hill Academy she taught at First Presbyterian Weekday School as their Kindergarten Bridge teacher. She has more than 20 years of teaching elementary School and preschool age children. She is married and has two children. Mrs. Wilson loves teaching and is looking forward to another wonderful year with Chapel Hill Academy.

Amy Porter

Mrs. Porter graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Tarleton State University and went on to pursue her certification. Prior to teaching at Chapel Hill, she was an Itinerant Teacher and taught Pre-K working for Head Start. She is dedicated to making sure each student has the confidence and skill to reach their fullest potential. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and their two dogs, spending time with friends, and cooking! Mrs. Porter is excited to embark on her newest journey here at Chapel Hill Academy!
