
Dottie Cruz
Ms. Cruz graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Social Work and her Master's degree in Education from Texas Christian University. She was the founder and director of a Montessori preschool for five years in the Ryan Place Neighborhood. She worked for Bright Horizons client center in Seattle, Washington for two years. Ms. Cruz also worked for All Church Home as a home parent for and has been a Site Supervisor for Clayton Childcare at Trinity Valley School and the Child Study Center. This is her fourth year working at Chapel Hill Academy teaching 1st grade.
Ryan Shephard
Mr. Shephard began working for Lena Pope Home as a Behavior Interventionist at Insights Elementary four years ago. Mr. Shephard is looking forward to creating a structured environment so that the students can be academically successful. This will be his third year at Chapel Hill Academy. Prior to his employment with Lena Pope Home, Mr. Shephard worked as a youth care worker at United Methodist Youthville in Newton, Kansas. He received his Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Bethel College. Mr. Shephard is looking forward to another awesome year at Chapel Hill Academy!
Sherri Wilson
Mrs. Wilson graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Oklahoma State University. This is Mrs. Wilson’s 3rd year to teach at Chapel Hill Academy. Prior to her employment at Chapel Hill Academy she taught at First Presbyterian Weekday School as their Kindergarten Bridge teacher. She has more than 20 years of teaching elementary School and preschool age children. She is married and has two children. Mrs. Wilson loves teaching and is looking forward to another wonderful year with Chapel Hill Academy.
Amy Porter
Mrs. Porter is excited to start her 2nd year teaching 1st grade here at Chapel Hill Academy! She received a Bachelor’s of Science from Tarleton State University in Human Sciences-Child and Family Studies and graduated magna cum laude in 2009. Prior to coming to Chapel Hill Academy, Mrs. Porter worked for the Head Start Program teaching Pre-K at Western Hills Primary and substituted for the Jane Justin School in the Child Study Center. She is a dedicated teacher who tries to ensure that each student becomes an independent learner, and reaches their fullest potential. She loved watching her students grow in their reading skills and become excellent readers this past year!!
