Holiday Season

 Lena Pope Home ~ Project C.A.R.E. ~ November 2008

Holidays at the Home.
The holiday season is quickly approaching and just the thought of it can be overwhelming to many of us. Lena Pope Home's goal during the holiday season is to help lessen the stress that many of our clients face for financial reasons.  We hope to help families create memorable moments to share with their children. The following are some ways you can share in the holiday giving spirit.

Adopt a Family: This is a great way to give as an individual or as a group. Sponsoring a family ensures that the holiday season is complete for a deserving family, as well as your own. Families with the greatest needs are selected for "adoption." Families range in size from 1 child to 8 children. Each child fills out a holiday wish list that includes their hobbies, clothing sizes, gift requests, and other family needs. From these holiday wish lists, donors are encouraged to give as they see fit.

Make a Family Bundle: A family bundle includes household necessities that many of our families need. Items could include cleaning supplies, toiletries, sheets, towels, and nonperishable food items. Creative way to give as an individual or a group!

Sponsor an Angel: Sponsoring an angel is a special way to provide for individual children by giving items such as: gift certificates, coats/winter apparel, arts & crafts sets, music, sports equipment, shoes, etc.

Angel Tree: Hang Lena Pope Home angels in your place of business or organization. This is a great way to involve a large amount of people and provide gifts to children who do not have a sponsor.  Angels list the child's clothing sizes and two gift ideas.

~ All gifts should be delivered unwrapped during the first or second week of December (Wednesday, December17th at the latest) to 3800 Hulen Street, Suite 150 in Fort Worth.

Uniform Clothing Needed ~ Children out grow their clothing quickly and the clothes they haven't outgrown are well worn and need to be replaced. School uniforms are required by Fort Worth ISD and can make morning routine easier, but school uniforms can also be an added expense. A continuous need throughout the year is uniform clothing, especially plain white polo shirts sizes child small and medium. For more information, or to make a donation, please contact Sarah Rubinson at srubinson@lenapopehome.org or 817-255-2646.
