The First Grade teachers at Chapel Hill Academy are dedicated to developing a positive and productive learning experience at school. It is our goal that every child receives an equal opportunity to achieve at his or her fullest potential.  We offer high-quality, standards-based instruction in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies with a strong emphasis on reading skills and technology. Our approach is to help build your child’s skills, habits and attitudes necessary for academic success.

We believe that you are your child’s first and most influential teacher. Your involvement is a key factor in your child’s success. During the time that you entrust us with your child's education, we will work together to develop a shared vision and clear expectations. We welcome your support in developing a strong home-school partnership.  First graders have homework assignments Monday - Thursday.  This provides an excellent opportunity for parents to engage in relevant conversations with their child about what they are learning in class; additionally, it allows for the child to have an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills he or she is gaining at CHA.
